Macro-electro

The pictures were taken using a standard 18-55mm Nikon lens and an AR-09 - 52mm Adapter ring to inverse the lens.

This isn't the best lens for this purpose by far (its largest aperture is f/3.5 @ 18mm and it doesn't have a ring to set the aperture manually either), but it was worth to take a shot.

Anyway, this technique won't be my favorite one to take macro/close-up photos.

  1. Hehh! I see you came up with a really creative idea for macro. I would have never thought of this...

  2. Well this is quite good. I've seen way less successful attempts with the same setup and lens.

As for the aperture from the light perspective - I think is probably best to use a tripod for this kind of setup anyways, isn't it?

But overall yeah - not the best way to do this. The heavier the lens gets the riskier it becomes. (considering that not all lenses are designed to hold their weight on the filter ring)
